These 3 Questions Will Help You Become More Self-Aware and Productive
Have you ever felt like something was missing?
You’ve done everything expected of you yet you still don’t have what you’ve been working so hard for.
Or maybe you do have the things you’re expected to have but at the expense of your dreams.
I’ve been there.
It’s confusing, painful and disheartening.
I needed answers. My sanity, my happiness, and my life depended on it.
All this disappeared the moment I started asking a specific set of questions. Questions that required deep reflection and honesty. Questions that challenged my thought process and revealed the truth.
I want to share some of these questions with you. You’ll become more self-aware, grounded and productive if you choose to apply them.
What do I want this to mean?
Anytime something occurs in my life, this is the first question I ask myself. It cues up the experience you will have, positive or negative.
This is my favorite question because it allows you to exercise the power of choice.
We are always assigning meaning to things in our lives. Who we are, why we can’t make it to the gym, or why we can’t find “The One.”
In each moment of our lives, we take a neutral occurrence and make it positive or negative based on our beliefs. This means we choose to be empowered or disempowered. We choose to keep our power or give it away.
We claim our power by assigning a meaning that serves us, by choosing to see the good or the opportunity in the moment.
Life is meaningless and empty.
It’s up to you to decide what it’ll end up being.
Make it count.
Who am I being?
There are going to be times in your life when things don’t go the way you want them to go.
Maybe you lost your job or got into an argument with your significant other. Maybe you aren’t making the kind of money you want or think you should be making.
It’s almost human nature to point the finger and blame an external source. A friend, a spouse or your boss. For a long time, I went through life pointing fingers at other people instead of taking ownership.
Asking yourself this question allows you to check in with how your actions have contributed to your current situation. Taking ownership of your thoughts, feelings and actions empowers you to be successful.
This the first step in transforming your life and living in what’s possible.
The next time you get triggered or feel negative emotions I want you to check in and ask yourself, “Who am I being?”
And be honest. This question has led to massive breakthroughs in my life and the lives of many personal friends.
Who do I need to be to have it turn out?
Once you’ve identified how your actions up have contributed to the current state of your life, it’s time to close the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
By asking this question, you’re calling yourself to fill the gap and take new ground.
This calls for a shift in not only your thinking but your way of being. Scarcity thinking breeds scarcity actions which leads to scarcity outcomes. Abundant thinking breeds abundant actions which leads to abundant outcomes.
The most successful people in the world identify where they are and fill the gaps so they can achieve their goals.
